Chickweed is a broadleaf weed that is fairly easy to control.
It appears during cool times of the year and is sometimes one of the first weeds seen in the spring.
There are two types of chickweed: common and mouse-ear. Both have little white flowers, but the mouse ear has larger leaves and small white hairs.
We control chickweed with a pre-emergent in our fall weed control application and post-emergent materials in the spring weed control applications. During the summer, we can spot spray it.
